Tales in Crux (2014)

This illustration was commissioned by a local Canadian theatre troupe looking for a promotional poster with a sense of mystery and vagueness coupled with traditional theatrical aesthetics.

The off-putting masks worn by each figure are the universally-recognizable 'Comedy & Tragedy' masks used to represent the two genres of ancient Greek theatre, whereas the intricate clothes (as well as the skull) are typical Shakespearian garb.
