Bunka (2016)

After a year and a half of living in Tokyo, the rose-tinted glasses each and every non-Japanese visitor gleefully wears, fell away to reveal a different—and perhaps darker—image of Japan.

This colourful and cluttered piece was crafted as a representation of contemporary Japanese life and social values. The title, which means culture, was chosen to reinforce this theme.
